Meet Your Chief of Chaplains, Emeritus
Dr. Stephen Kirtley
Director of Chaplain Programs at  Promise Christian University

The challenge of organizing and administrating the Chaplains Corps of the United States Volunteers Joint Services Command was accepted by Dr. Kirtley in December 2007.  The National Headquarters Command appointed Dr. Kirtley as Chief of Chaplain with the rank of Colonel.

Today, Dr. Kirtley is the Chief of Staff with the rank of Brigadier General.

Chaplain Kirtley has over 30 years of experience in ministry of the Chaplain and church administration.  He brings a keen sense of vision and direction to the Chaplain's Service which complements the mission and purposes of the USV-JSC, "boots on graves."  The motto for the Chaplains Corp is "dedicated to serve."

Chaplain Kirtley asked Chaplain (Maj.) Robert Harris to serve as Chief of Chaplains and Chaplain (Cmdr) Michael McKinney as Deputy Chief of Chaplains.

The Chaplains Corp has been actively supporting the mission USV-JSC having participated in all 12 monthly military honors ceremonies at Riverside National Cemetery as well as Veterans Day and special military honors ceremonies.
