FIRST CLASS COMPLETES CHAPLAINS TRAINING AT PROMISE CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY

Chaplain (Col) Stephen Kirtley applauds new recruits

 

March 3, 2007 - Pasadena, CA.   Ch (Maj) Michael McKinney, President of Promise Christian University joined Ch (Commander) Lynn Anderson, Chief of Chaplains USV-JSC and Ch (Col) Steve Kirtley, Director of Chaplain Programs  in congratulating the first set of students who completed Chaplains Training I at Promise Christian University.

This intensive 18 hour course, delivered the heart and soul of the calling and responsibility of the chaplain.  Special guest, Brig. General John Henke, Region Commander for the 9th Region of the United States Volunteers - Joint Services Command, apprised these new potential chaplains for the three missions of USV service:  "Boots on Graves," Emergency Services, and Service to the Secretary of Defense.

Graduates include 4 who will be enlisting as volunteer chaplains with the USV-JSC.  Two graduates will be enlisting with either the Army National Guard, California State Military Reserve, or the USAF Civil Air Patrol.

The next scheduled class will be held on April 21, 28 and March 5th.
