Magnetically Levitated Transportation System 3. The Train requires no precision built track to function perfectly. The air gap between the cars and track may vary several inches or as little as is required for specific design. 4. The Train's track design is the only track design which incorporates flexible construction for maximum earthquake resistance; that is, each segment of rails and their attached supports may move independently of adjacent segments. The Train track system is flexible and is the most earthquake resistant design ever conceived. Only Vinson's design can use this flexible track system. 5. The Train elevated track design permits installation at minimum cost over existing streets, roads, highways, tracks, right of way, canals, rivers, and rough terrain of all types. 6. The Train is the only rail system in history to feature a split car design. The split car design permits the power and levitation compartment to automatically and continuously "weigh" the cargo and passenger compartment and order the magnets to accommodate all conditions that affect the car. The split car design shields passengers and cargo from the immense magnetic forces that could have harmful effects. 7. The Train will use linear motors for propulsion. These motors use far less power than the locomotives of conventional trains. It is estimated 75% less energy is required per passenger mile or ton mile. 8.The Train safety features under development for patent application will provide never before used design features to greatly protect passengers at all speeds. 9. The Train tower-supported flexible track design is the only system in the world which permits farming operations of all types to continue without loss of land.
