Klaus Kronenberg, Physicist

EDUCATION:
University Goettingen, German (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics)
Diplom-Physiker (M.S. equive). Electro-Acoustics

Technical University (Bergakakademie) Clausthal, Germany
Dr. D. Naturwissenschaften (Ph.D. equiv) Physics, Geophysics, Mathematics

Illinois Institute of Technology and University of California Los Angeles
Semester courses in Diffraction Analysis, FORTRAIN IV Language
Space Physics, Solid State and Quantum Electronics

EXPERIENCE:
35 Years planning and conducting research and development in magnetic materials, electron microscopy, thin-film technology, energy conversion, magnetic bearings, magnetic levitation technology.

DEMONSTRATED COMPETENCE AND MOTIVATION CAPABILITY
Developed stabilization methods for magnets, now standard in most countries.
International representations emphasized world leadership of my company.
Conducted research and development in magnetic materials, resulting in dramatic improvements of qualities of hard magnetic ferrites, giving my company for years a world monopoly. They made solid state magnetic levitation a reality.
Invented a basic principle for magnetic levitation and magnetic guidance reducing
friction, ear, energy loss, and eliminating needs for lubrication and maintenance
in rotating devices, transportation systems and instruments. (Patent and in 14
countries)

Re-installed laboratories for magnetic research and material investigation (electron metallurgy) for 6 times higher output at half the former cost.
Three out of four technicians under my supervision became engineers. One of
them advanced to Chief of a research laboratory.
The response to my lectures by students and colleagues is persistently enthusiastic.

MEMBERSHIPS:

levitation and for consulting with advanced-transportation companies in
Germany and in Southern California as recommended by the German
Bundesministrerium f. Forschung u. Technologie, Bonn, and led by the
U.S. Department of Transportation, Washington D.C.

Guest professor at the RUHR-Universitat, Bochum, Institut f. Werkstoffe d. Eletrotechnik.

EMPLOYMENT

1981 Prof. Emeritus, Vice Pres. R & D Trig. Int. Inc. Cardiff by the Sea, CA.

1974-1981 Associate Professor, Physics Dept. California State Polytechnic University, Pomona

1973-1976 Guest Professor Ruhu-Universitat, Bochum, Germany
Magnetic Levitation and Materials Studies and Research

1963-1974 Staff Scientist, General Dynamics Corporation
Pomona Division, Pomona, CA. Naval Ordnance Plant, Aerospace systems.

1981 Study of 400+ papers on magnetic water treatment. Discovered crystallization anomaly in treated water.

Optimizing effectivity in treatment units. Founding Fluid Magnetics. Corp.

1989-1991 Consulting contracts with companies in US, Germany, Switzerland
Australia.

Prime Investigator for Electron Microscope Studies on Magnetic Materials. On-site nucleation of metal films, with contracts with NASA. Improving semi-conductor films for micro-electronic devices. Diffraction analysis of crystallinity of films and substrates.

Prime Investigator for Energy Conversion Studies Invented a new concept for ultra-fast fusing with new type of pressure transducers, conducted impact tests with gas gun and explosives for multimillion dollar effort.

Prime Investigator for Atmospheric Options
Derived worldwide visibility data for weapon system evaluation

Prime Investigator for Dynamic Functions of Permanent Magnets. Created a new concept of magnetic suspension devices for use in a guidance system, gyros, flywheels, instruments, magnetic track systems (US and foreign)

Contribution to team efforts in multimillion dollar contracts for Space instrumentation (Apollo Project proposals).
Atmospheric contamination, rain erosion impact effects;  Geomagnetic effects on magnetic fuses Acousto-optical system of data acquisition in the upper ionosphere by air launched rockets (US Patent)

1953-1953 Scientist, Indiana General Corporation, Magnetic Division. Valparaiso, Indiana. World's largest manufacturer of permanent magnets.

Investigated and eliminated aging effects in permanent magnets Analyzed crystal structures of metallic and ceramic materials for more economic meeting of all customer requirements. Electron microscope studies of magnetic films and particles, revealed reason for the failure of a large competitor's development effort, in time to save my company large expenses.  Discovered correlation between crystal structure and quality in ferrites, resulting in volume production of first commercial true permanent magnets, establishment of an additional factory, 35% increase of production volume. $6 million sales addition.
