HIGH SPEED MAGLEV COMES TO CALIFORNIA

Southland Cities consider new high tech transportation

Today's Date -- June 1998

For Immediate Release - Science and Technology

Covina, California

During the mid 1950's, NASA successfully tested magnetic transportation and concluded the realization and possibility that such a system could achieve speed in excess of 1000 miles per hour.

"Maximum benefit for minimum cash" with priority for safety and flexibility in construction to counter-act earthquakes with state of the art technology belongs to Roy D. Vinson, who invented in the early 1970's a "Permanent Magnet Mag Lev" system called, "Magnetrain," where no part touches the track. The Vinson Magnetrain, whose patent amd design was announced and applauded by Congressman David Dreier (R-CA) at a press conference several years ago, uses permanent magnets to provide lift and a simple hydraulic system to control the magnets without use of electricity. The magnets provide lift from their own internal magnetic force totally replacing conventional train systems and raising ground transportation speed up to 600 miles per hour.

The Vinson World Magnetrain Corporation hopes to bring millions of dollars to the Southern California area if chosen to be one of the five designs to receive a portion of the $60 million allotted for maglev development and eventually the $1 billion dollars authorized by the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century (TEA-21) which was recently passed by Congress. This is successor to the Intermodel Surface Transportation Efficency Act (ISTEA) which was originally authored by Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-NY), a senior member of the Senate Environment and Public Works committee. Senator Moynihan has been a long time believer in alternative transportation systems and has written several articles and essays on the subject including, "How to lose: the story of maglev," (Scientific American, Nov. 1989),

Barbara Boxer (D-CA), a member of the Environment and Public Works Committee, was an original sponsor of the subsequent bill called the ISTEA Reauthorization Act of 1997 stated that:. "The economic power of California and this nation can only be unleashed if we invest in the means to get our workers to their jobs and our exports into international trade. This legislation will accomplish that vital goal, and it will do so while protecting environment for generations to come."

Vinson’s invention is applauded as one of the most useful public utility service of the century and one of the safest, fastest, quietest and cleanest transportation systems ever offered to the public. This cost effective, state of the art, flexible design track system will need zero maintenance versus the high cost of conventional train systems. Magnetrain will create no pollution whatsoever, is accident free, safe, quiet and clean.

As a pioneer in mag lev technology, Roy Vinson has no intention of harming existing transportation systems. The United States as the only superpower in the world must support this unique opportunity to proceed with the development of this technology that is superior in quality and safety in comparison to the German and other U.S. developments and which is much more cost effective. The Magnetrain will bring back to the USA, leadership in ground-rail transportation one more time.
