SCHWARTZENEGGER ON THE RIGHT TRACK by Dr. Adelle McKinney It is amazing that when people become the educated, the prolific, and the affluent they lose their sense of adventure, vision and pioneering and become managers and overseers of the status quo of their communities, their states and the nation. Governor Schwartzenegger is on the right track. There are very few men and women left in this nation capable of seeing "what is not" and having the discipline to bring what is not into being. "‘Hydrogen Highway’ Plans Riding on Misconceptions," an editoral by Michael Hiltzik, just confirms the thinking of a vast majority of the educated, the prolific and the affluent as they struggle to maintain the way of life that they are use to and the way of life that is supportive to their affluence. The cheap production of hydrogen as a safe alternative to fossil fuel is just a telephone call away as hundreds and thousands of scientists and engineers are working optimize their formulas and ready their patents and for hundreds of ways to produce this technology efficiently and cost-effectively.
The common folk understand that anything that benefits their needs and their affluence but may negate the affluence of the educated, the prolific and the affluent, will be opposed "tooth and nail." Anything that benefits the ordinary man or women who drives a compact late model automobile, of course, is not a priority unless it is of benefit to existing big business and the corporate bottom line. During the 1870's through the 1960's America was great, because America allowed the common man to invent, develop and innovate in the field of transportation, energy, science and technology. There were no restrictions, no educated PH.D.s to insist it’s impossible, it can’t be done. No prolific writers bombarding readers of the stupidity or the impracticability of trying something new and innovative. And finally none of the affluent, with their power and wealth, consistently trying to hinder and derail new technology that may compete with their personal sources of revenue. In our nation today we have become a nation of skeptics because of the educated, the prolific and the affluent. We should rally round men and women of vision who have a heart to make life better for the common folks. And finally we should remind the educated, the prolific and the affluent, that their ancestors were common folks too! May 8, 2004 |
