HALL OF FAME
These are great men and women of God who have touched our
lives and the
World for Jesus International Fellowship:
Dr. Ernest LaPointe
Pastor Ernie and Pastor Norma came to World for Jesus in 2007. Since that
time he and Sis. Norma became pastors at World for Jesus and Pastor Ernie
received the Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from Promise Christian
University in 2008. In this short time Dr. Ernest also became a licensed
short wave radio operator and was asked to serve on the R&D committee for
Magnetrain Worldwide Group. The Lord suddenly called him home in Feb. of
2010 after a brief illness. He left with us his legacy in the form of a
little booklet called "The God Kind of Faith."
Dr. Lee Wheatley Sr.
Pastor
Lee was a bright and shining light at the Pastors Network. He and his wife
Bertha are the founders of Joy Christian Center in Duarte, CA. His
testimony is one of healing and miracles. The Lord took Pastor Lee home on
August 26, 2005. He never met a stranger and his life was dedicated to
helping others fine their way and the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour.
Dr. Edith E. Cerullo
Rev. Edith Cerullo and her husband, Dr. Rudy have been in full time ministry
more than 60 years total. In the early days of the evangelistic movement
in the USA she and Dr. Rudy travelled holding tent crusades and revivals all
over the east and south. They had the opportunity to travel to many
foreign nations. For the last 25 years they pastored the Tri-City Assembly
of God church in Covina! What a wonderful encourager and blessing she was to the
Pastors Network and to the family of God. Sis. Edith went home to be with
the Lord on March 21, 2005
Pastor Mervyn Kuwaye
Pastor Merv and his wife, Belen preached the gospel around the world for 20
years. They established branches for Jesus is Lord worldwide ministries in
Hong Kong, England, Canada, France, Italy, Norway and many other nations.
Together he and Belen pastored Faith in Christ South Bay Church for 10
years. More than that Bro. Merv was an encourager and a support of World
for Jesus International Ministries. He was born on Oct. 7, 1953 and went
home to be with the Lord on June 17, 2002!
Rev. Melvin Kwan. Rev. Kwan pastored the Lamb of God Church and
Bible School in Honolulu, Hawaii. He pioneered two churches in the islands
and traveled around the world in missionary crusades. He was well
respected and loved by the churches of Hawaii. He went home to be with the
Lord on June 6, 2002.
Rev. Danny Hjertstedt
Preaching the gospel around the world for 52 years.
Bro. Danny came from a family of 7 preachers. He and Sis. Dora traveled
preaching revivals 52 weeks of the year. Even with the news of his
illness, he continue to preach the gospel up until the last two weeks of his
life. World for Jesus was honored to have Bro. Danny speak a powerful
prophetic message on October 7, 2001. He went home to be with the Lord on
November 7, 2001 at 10:30 p.m.
Dr. Howard Courtney
We met Dr. and Mrs. Courtney through our dear mother in the Lord, Rev. Gladys
Church. We asked them if they were every available to come and speak to a small
independent church. They said yes. And this began our
friendship. Dr. Courtney was a giant in the gospel, a man who love the
Lord, who loved pastors, and who loved the ministry. He and Sis. Courtney
served together as a team for more than 60 years. His advice to us was,
"never accept an invitation unless your wife can go along as
well." He believed in teamwork. He also advised us that,
"everything you are seeking for in ministry, every hope, every desire and
every dream is all contained in Him."
Dr. Courtney went home to be with the Lord on October 30, 2000.
Dr. Mack Sutherland
Through the ministry of
Morris Cerullo we saw Dr. Mack organizing, coordinating, preaching, and
ministering in many world conferences, local crusades and on television as the
North American Crusade Director for Bro.
Cerullo. In 1985, Dr. Cerullo decided to conduct a city-wide crusade in
Los Angeles, CA at the Olympic Auditorium. We were asked to help enlist
pastors of Asian ministries, Spanish ministries and of course the local
ministries. Together Dr. Mack and I visited churches and met
ministers. The outcome: more than 15,000 people packed the auditorium for
three nights with people flooding the streets. They had triple
interpretation: English, Spanish and Korean. From that time on, Dr. Mack
and I (Bro. Mike McKinney) became close friends. In 1997, Dr. Mack came to
minister at the World for Jesus Christian Center in Covina and that began the
birthing of the greater vision, a world-wide pastor's fellowship. In 2000,
the Lord gave Bro. Mike and Sis. Adelle the organizational plan through and with
the assistance of Dr. Mack and Shirley Sutherland. Dr. Mack agreed to
serve on the first Advisory Board of the ministry! And, then, as his work
on earth was accomplished the Lord called him home, on Jan. 3,2001. He was
a man who showed the patience, compassion, and love of God to the pastors and
those in ministry! He had a heart for the pastor of the small
church. A mighty man of God!
Dr. Handel Price
We first heard of Dr. Price when he was serving as the Vice President of Eagle's
nest Ministry in Santa Ana. A powerful, anointed preacher and teacher of
the Word, his heritage was sitting under the anointing of the Jeffery Brothers,
Evans Roberts, Smith Wigglesworth and other spiritual giants of Wales and
England. In 1983, we were invited to be the guest speakers at the 50th
anniversary of the Gospel of Salvation Church in Honolulu, Hawaii. There
at that special service, Dr. Price and his dear friend Dr. C.M. Ward were also
on the program. As we got acquainted with Dr. Handel and Flo Price,
immediately we felt the hand of God on our relationship. Dr. Price was a
mentor and friend to the pastor. He was a trainer and encourager and
sometimes a corrector in love. Even in his latter years, despite many near
death experiences both on the field and in the hospital, God would raise him up
and off he would go on another crusade, another revival, another special
meeting. Nothing could hold Dr. Price down. He was booked up a year
ahead of time. But the Lord know, the heart of this mighty man of God and
warrior in His kingdom, that nothing would stop him from preaching the gospel,
only a divine call from heaven could cause this General in God's kingdom to stop
and take a break. That call came on January 6, 2001. God called Dr.
Price home to his place of Glory! But his legacy to the Body of Christ is
his many books, especially the one entitled, "Speaking to
Leaders."
Rev. Vince McCauley, Ghana, West Africa
Bro. McCauley was a great man of faith. An orphan from Guyana, he found
his way to the Fred Jordan Missions
at the time called Soul Clinic International. Bro. Fred adopted Vince as
his own son in the faith and began to mentor him. Bro. Vince was sent to
Africa as a missionary and ended up on Ghana. With no money and no real
financial backing, Bro. Vince established the Soul Clinic International School
which at the time of his death in 1997 was considered the number one private
Christian school in the nation. Today his wife Salwa and his sons carry on
his work. Bro. Vince was a servant of God and a great man of faith!
Fred Jordan, Soul Clinic, Los Angelels
I met Bro. Fred in the late 1960's in Palm
Springs, CA. He invited me to appear on his television program to give my
testimony. Bro. Fred and Sis. Willie although so busy in ministry and with
the
home downtown, always had time to pray for and fellowship with the young
ministers. Bro. Fred always hand an encouraging word for me and told me,
"when you get your church call me and I'll come and preach for
you." We did and he did. What a wonderful man of God with so
much love and compassion. He was real! So is Sis. Willie whom we
love very much!
Rev. Gladys Church - Angeles Temple.
Sis. Gladys was one
of Aimee's first women evangelist. A powerful anointed speaker, Sis.
Church held revivals all over the Southern California area in the
1930s-1940s. Later on she pastored the 500 room at Angeles Temple for some
15 years before she retire. She preached her second to last message in our
church before the Lord called her home in 1989 at the age of 91. She was
my mentor when I began my ministry as an evangelist. Sis. Aimee said,
"if I could preach like Gladys Church that would be saying something."
